SUMIE

Inspired by Zen philosophy and the beauty of impermanence, SUMIE explores the quiet space between intention and chance.
Created with sumi ink, water, and paper, each work emerges through a dialogue between the artist and the materials themselves.

Guided by the hand yet shaped by water, time, and subtle moments of unpredictability, the series evokes atmosphere rather than representation
— the feeling of rain, the trace of wind, the stillness of snow, and the quiet beauty of what cannot be held forever.

Available as original artworks and fine art prints in a range of sizes.

SUMIE

SUMIE is a contemplative art series inspired by the beauty of impermanence, presence, and the quiet dialogue between intention and chance.

Created using sumi ink, water, and paper, each work emerges through a process that is both guided and surrendered. The artist initiates the gesture, yet the final image is shaped through the interaction of water, paper, time, and the subtle influence of chance. No mark can be fully controlled, and no two works can ever be repeated.

Rather than depicting a specific landscape or object, these works explore atmosphere, movement, and essence — the feeling of rain, the trace of wind, the stillness of snow, and the space between arrival and departure.

The original drawings are carefully scanned and reproduced as fine art prints, allowing these fleeting moments to be shared beyond the studio. Yet, like the originals, the prints themselves remain impermanent. Printed on paper, they too will age, soften, and change over time.

Inspired by Zen philosophy and the Japanese appreciation for impermanence, SUMIE embraces the beauty of what cannot be held forever. Each work invites a moment of pause — a quiet reminder to be present with what is here, before it becomes something else.
